Uniform Style: Accessory Edition

Hello again! Welcome back to the Uniform Style. This time focusing on accessories! Now as you may know or remember from the show Jersey Shore t,he girls on the show like Snookie, J-Wow, Sammie, and Deena are all about the hair and the clothing. But have you ever noticed their accessories? Shoes, bags, bracelets, and earrings. Those girls love their accessories.

Snookie's infamous fight with Angelina even mentions her dedication to her accessories. Before the fight she takes off her earrings and says, "Hold my earrings!" Then MEOW! Cat fight!

Okay, just to set the record straight, The Jersey Shore is very, very wrong about many people from New Jersey. But sometimes they are true. In this situation, it's partly true. We don't get into crazy cat fights. However we do care about our hair and accessories!

You should care about your accessories as well and, take it from me, accessories are your best friend! Sometimes they can change an outfit from totally blah to totally chic! There is the new trend where women wear all neutral clothing, so boring. But with an added accessory in a bold color, that outfit now pops!

But we aren't talking about accessories for normal clothing. If only it were that easy. We're talking about accessories for the uniform.

Like I said in the previous blog post, some institutions don't allow you to have some of the things suggested here. However, you will hopefully be able to find a few things that will work for you as well as your school or work. Or maybe some of the suggestions will be more for inspiration rather than suggestion. Either way, I hope this helps!

First thing that should come to mind with accessories is Jewelry! Now you don't want to be meek or plain with your jewelry for a uniform, your uniform already does that for you. You're going to want to choose jewelry that is bold in color, size, or style.

Here are some suggestions:

Big Chucky Earrings ($12.99 at ECrater)  , Bold Color Necklace ($9.99 at Etsy) , Mutli-Wooden Bracelets ($8.50 at Delias),  Funky Cool Ring ($10.90 at Windsor),  Pretty Shiny Broach ($6.80 at Forever21),

Black Mustache Double Finger Ring

Now another accessory that is essential for the fashionable college student is the Watch. There are many watches that you can get in all shapes and sizes, along with all different price ranges as well. However, watches are good to have because one they are professional, two they help you keep track of time, and three they can add to your outfit!

Professional Watch ($20.99 at TimelessHomeDecor) and Fun Colorful Watches ($13.49 at Overstock.com)

On to the item that I find girls love the most and it is my personal favorite Shoes! The awesome thing about shoes is they come in so many shapes, styles, and colors. They can be used for any outfit, just to compliment it or to really make someone go "WOW!".

Rockin' Red Booties ($29.62 at Debs), Girly Rosette Flats ($19.80 at Forever21), Comfy Grey Moccasins  ($16.99 at Payless)

As the season goes on the weather is going to get colder. Call in the Calvary, or in this case Coats/ Blazers! Blazers are super in style right now, coming in a million colors and styles. They are absolutely adorable as well as professional. However sometimes blazers aren't warm enough so coats are right next to them on the list!

Funky Stripped Blazer ($34.99 [look for sale to get it cheaper] at Charlotte Russe), Chic Teal Blazer ($24.80 at Forever21) , Brown Faux Leather Jacket ($39.99 at Target),Warm Coal Black Coat ($29.99 at Sears)

Ashley Women's Hooded Bomber Jacket at Sears.comXhilaration® Puff Sleeve Moto Jacket - Assorted Colors

Now another addiction that I know a lot of girls have that would add some pizzazz to a uniform are Bags. The wonderful thing about bags is they come in all shapes, colors and sizes that you can really show off your personality as well as keep your things organized. Whether you carry a backpack, purse, clutch, or just wallet you can really show who you are!

Fierce Cheetah Backpack ($39.99 at Victoria's Secret [It's ok to splurge when it's Vickie's), Adorable Heart Purse ($24.80 at Forever21), Punk Handcuff Clutch ($19.50 at Hottopic)

Now what is a uniform without it's signature Leggings/Tights/Socks? And that's the thing about uniforms, you don't have to just wear socks (although some institutions require you to), you can wear tights or leggings underneath. And this isn't just school uniforms, some uniforms are just a shirt and paired with a skirt you can utilize this accessory! With all of these new trends and patterns coming out leggings, tights and socks don't come in just the basic colors like the used to. They now come in pretty patterns and funky colors!

Floral Pattern Tights ($7.50 at Charlotte Russe), Polka Dot Socks ($4.80 at Forever21), Bright Purple Leggings ($6.74 at Debs)

Last, but definitely not least is the accessory that no matter what your personality shines through: Make up. This is probably your best "accessory" and the one you can get away with most. Now I can probably do a whole new post just about make up for your uniform. But I'm just going to keep it short by adding some suggestions based on new trends that are popping up and you should definitely follow for the fall. (All of these Products can be found at your local drug store or Ulta)
